I confess. I'm addicted to cookbooks, especially Kentucky cookbooks.
It's all 4-H's fault. When I made that first batch of coffeecake in the
4-H manual back in 4th grade, I was hooked. That was (I can't believe
I'm admitting this) almost 40 years ago. And while I've tried all kinds
of cooking styles over the years, I keep coming back to my Southern
roots.
I've been collecting Kentucky cookbooks ever since I was a child and now my collection is well into the hundreds. The collection led me to researching Kentucky's love affair with food, and eventually to my attempt to develop a list of all the Kentucky cookbooks that have been published.
It's an incomplete list, deliberately excluding most fund-raising cookbooks, and I'm sure there are many great books that I've overlooked. If you know of any books that should be added, please let me know and I'll add them. The ones that are highlighted are in my collection.
