For years, I felt like I was on my own as I searched for my Bunch ancestors. But recently, I've come in contact with not one, but three researchers who are looking at my Grainger County family. One of them mentioned the other day that he thought there were a lot more Bunches in that part of Tennessee than had ever been documented.
So I went to my notes, and there it was, a list I compiled ten years ago of Bunches in Grainger County prior to 1810. When reviewing this, remember that the county was later broken up into several other counties, including Claiborne and Hamblen, so these families may not have been living in the area we now think of as Grainger County. Prior to 1796, Grainger was part of Hawkins County, TN, so those records are included below.
