I Admit It--Going Both Ways

As an avid digi-scrapper, sometimes I miss the smell of glue, the feel of the paper, the thrill of finding the perfect embellishment in the bargain bin at Big Lots. :-) That's why I still have a craft room filled to the brim with scrapbooks, paper, and ribbons galore.

Thank goodness for Scrapbook Dimensions, the magazine for hybrid scrappers. Now I can finally combine two of my favorite pastimes, and show my projects in a gallery designed specifically for hybrid.

This month, I've joined a group that's creating a circle journal made up of digital layouts, embellished with "real-life" elements. We're sharing the digital layouts with everyone who signed up for the project, and showing our embellished pages in the gallery. The theme is "One Thing I Love About Spring."

For my layout, I used a quote by Nadine Stair. The papers and butterfly are from Sausan's Verde kit. Photo from stock.xchng. Font is SS Simple Slab. Crocheted flower from Imaginesce. Ribbon and button from my stash.

New at Scrapbookgraphics

Have you seen the work of the newest Studio Girl at Scrapbookgraphics, Birgit Kerr?

She's added more than 60 items to the store, and frankly, I think they're all gorgeous, but I've narrowed it down to two that I just HAVE to have, Altered Touches and Lingering Joys.

The Studio Crew was given a sneak preview of two of Birgit's Christmas kits. Here's what I did with them.

My Favorite Subject

It's just hard to explain the special bond between grandparents and grandchildren. You love the child as much as you love your own children, yet you have little of the responsibility. So it's as if you get all of the benefits of parenting without the headaches.

My grandson Max is fifteen months old now. For him, the world is a brand new place, an exciting place with all kinds of secrets to explore. I follow him around, taking his picture and writing down his movements. Here are a few layouts I've done featuring my favorite subject.

Donna and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

Today's Studio Starts Challenge at Scrapbookgraphics was to design a layout using the theme, "What Was I Thinking?" As of yesterday morning, I didn't have a clue what I was going to do, but then inspiration came and hit me hard. :-)

I've been a little under the weather all week, fighting a head cold, and frankly, I'm still not doing so hot. And, I look even worse than I feel. My eyes are swollen; I have these huge dark circles; and my skin is so dry it crackles when I smile. So, I didn't really want to go to Wal-Mart yesterday, but our cupboards were bare. When you order pizza three nights in a row, the neighbors start to talk. So off I went.

There's something about that place that justs exhausts me, so I was relieved to find an empty line and check out. It was when I was paying that it dawned on me that I didn't remember putting my keys in my purse. So I rolled my brimming cart out to the car and there were the keys, lying on the front seat just where I put them. I dug my cell phone out of my purse only to find out it's not charged. So I rolled the cart back up the hill to a pay phone and called AAA. They said they'd have someone there within 45 minutes. I rolled the cart back to the car and set up camp. An hour and a half later, they finally showed up. By the time I got home, I was cold, miserable and hungry.

The only good thing to come out of the whole fiasco was that I finally had something to scrap.

Ztampf! Contest

Have you been playing along in Ztampf's 2nd Birthday Challenge? It's been an awesome 4-week contest that culminates this weekend with the announcing of the Week 4 winners and the Grand champion.
